May 2018

The May 2018 meeting was called to order at 19:08 by Club President Jim Zocchi. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited followed by a welcome to all attending members and guests. Sixteen people were present for the meeting.

Ed Klint reported that his father, John, is not doing very well. John is a life time member of the Club. Bruce Morgan reported that George Jessop passed away suddenly last week. George had been a past member of the Club and a friend of many members. It was voted to contribute fifty dollars as a memorial for Mr. Jessop.

A hat was also passed for everyone to contribute that wanted to. A final total of over xx will be given to the widow

The Treasurers report was given.

Layne Schoenfeld was not present to provide a Quartermaster report.

Upcoming events were discussed with emphasis being placed on Fort Douglas Day, June 15 and 16. The Fort Douglas Museum curator, Mr. Beau Burgess gave an overview of the Museum and Utah Historical Society’s planned events for the month of June. He requested a list of Club members who will be participating for his planning which Pete Park provided.It appears that several members will participate in the camp out to be held on the 15th. A signup sheet was also passed around for both the Friday night campout and Saturday’s Fort Douglas Day.

Tomorrow is the Bountiful Skypark air show. It was not known who would be participating in the event. Dave Barber reported that the CAF (Commemorative Air Force) will be having a hangar dance with a swing band on 9 June from 1800 to 2200 at their museum located at the Heber Valley Airport. All are invited.

Jim said that he received a call regarding a Military Appreciation Day event that will be held on 11 August at the Fremont Indian State Park located along I-70 in central Utah. More information is available in the Newsletter calendar.

The meeting was adjourned at 20:00. The next meeting will be held at 1700 on 28 June at the Fort Douglas Museum.presentation for the

July meeting will be provided by Lucy Hinderliter on ID theft.

The presentation for this meeting was provide by Jim Zocchi on a product that stops and seals rust on metal.Jim brought parts to exhibit and demonstrated the product on various metal pieces.It was well received by all the membership.
