The meeting was called to order at 19:02 by Club President Jim Zocchi. Seventeen people were in attendance. After the welcome to all in attendance, Jim led the group in the reciting of the pledge of allegiance.

Introduction of People and visitors: A check with how Club member Bruce Morgan was feeling (he was in attendance) had the response of an “affirmative.” A gentle reminder was made to go easy on the Dr. Pepper. Bruce left an open offer to take him to the University Hospital if anything more were to happen at this meeting. Ruel Ipson was in attendance along with his WWI ambulance. Ed Klint gave an update on his Dad.

Club Business: The Treasurers report was given with no change in the Club’s checking account. All was in balance with the bank statement. Jim Zocchi passed along a dues payment from the previous month (Mike Anderson).

Club Events: Club BBQ and Swap meet: After much discussion on dates it has been decided the Club swap meet and steak fry will be held on Saturday, October 12th at the Fort Douglas Museum.

Set up for the event will start at 10:00 AM followed by lunch at 12:00 noon. A complimentary steak is served to members with dues paid. Additional steaks are available for purchase for guest and visitors. Attendees should bring a side dish to share with everyone. All are encouraged to bring items to sell or exchange.

Club Christmas Party: The annual Christmas party will be held on Saturday, 7 December at 6:00 PM. After the dinner there will be a gift exchange. A large discussion as to where to hold the dinner followed. For several years the Dinner has been held at the Gray Cliff Lodge in Ogden Canyon. The lodge has been a great venue with no complaints. The draw back is the greater distance from Salt Lake and points south. Clyde Hinderlitter will call the Gray Cliff and reserve a group room for the 7 December. Pete Park will explore other options in the valley or in Park City.

Labor Day Park City Parade: Pete Park Invited anyone interested to bring their vehicles to the 2 September, Park City Labor Day (Miners Day) Parade.

Wendover Air Show: The Wendover Air Show will be held on Saturday, 28 September. A count of those Club members that will be attending totaled nine with seven vehicles. Perhaps sleeping arrangements for those in attendance will be available in the Enola Gay hangar or in the dinning hall.

Other Business: Pete park brought a starter motor from his 1942 Dodge, WC54 that was rebuilt by Snap Rebuilders. The starter looked like it just came from the factory.

Fort Douglas Museum report: Museum Director, Beau Burgess reported that the Museum will be open on 9/11. Attendees will be able to view a piece of the World Trade Center building that is on permeant display in the park area behind the main buildings. Saturday, 14 September will be “Governor’s Day” at the Museum followed by “Utah History Day” on 21 September. In October the annual tour of the Fort Douglas Cemetery will be held complete with reenactors that talk about those who were buried on the property. A new exhibit at the Museum is “Behind the Wire” a presentation of internment camps in Utah during WW2. Also on display are garments made from the WW2, Manti, Utah parachute factory remnants. Renovation work continues on all of the Museum’s buildings.

Raffle: A drawing was held for the remaining Jeep parts donated by Rory Grenier of Joe’s Motor Pool and a Vietnam era copy of the PS (Preventive Maintenance Monthly) Magazine donated by Pete Park. Jim Zocchi won the Jeep parts and Clyde Hinderlitter won the PS Magazine copy.

Adjournment: A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 2015 Hrs.
