Ed Smith just acquired a new WW2 Willys trailer. He’s not sure of the date as the data plate is missing but it does have combat rims and lunette. Very tow able with his Jeep

Pete Park continues his restoration work on a 1942 Dodge WC-54 Ambulance. All body work has been done and body painted with graphics. The engine is a NOS Dodge T-214 (1942, never been started) that has been rebuilt with new seals, bearings, balanced and hardened valve seats (L&R Machine in Layton did the work). The truck came with 1951 Power Wagon rear end, transfer case, transmission and front end. All have been replaced with the correct except the front end. Bruce Gates from the Idaho Club has a correct front end and a trip will be made to Nampa to pick up the part. The restoration has been going on for one-and-a-half years.

Jimmy Zocchi continues working and collecting parts for his Ford GPW Jeep.

George Spargen continues work on his M-151 collection, getting vehicles running.

What’s happening in other clubs:

Puget Sound Military Vehicle Collectors Club, May 2020 Quartermaster Report: A report on the MVPA Northwest Parks Motor Convoy which will include Idaho, Washington and Oregon. The tour will be for two weeks from 7-23 August and will start in Kamiah, ID, go up through southern Washington, to the coast, down through northern Oregon and end back at Kamiah. (Note: The MVPA has cancelled this convoy) Their newsletter included an article on Phil Vallerand’s 1942 MB which was originally at the American Armory Museum in Sacramento, CA. The Jeep is now going through a full restoration at Jimmy Strauss Jeeps in Diamond Springs, CA. The club is planning an event at Camp Adams in August which will include a barbecue and swap meet. There will also be a fly-in on the same weekend. (

Idaho Military Vehicle Preservation Association, May 2020. Their May meeting was cancelled. There was a great article by Nick Wilson and Ron Powell on a 1941 GP Jeep. Also included was an article on the MVPA Northwest Parks Motor Convoy Alex Gordon from the Idaho Motor Pool will be sponsoring a barbecue for the group.
