The meeting was called to order at 1904 Hrs. by Club Vice President, Bob Boettcher.

The meeting was located in the Fort Douglas Museum’s “Cannon Park. Many thanks went out to Museum for leaving the back-lot gate open for the group. At the close of the meeting the gate was secured. Bob led the group in the reciting of the pledge of allegiance.

Introduction of People and visitors: Ten members were present with no visitors in attendance. Most everyone wore masks and social distancing was taken seriously. Bob Boettcher shared news of the passing of many friends and army buddies.

Club business: Treasurer’s report: The report was given with no change in the Club’s checking account balance noted. Bob Boettcher continued with a discussion on information he received from the Utah National Guard about the anniversary of the World War II Jeep. He will keep everyone apprised when more information becomes available. A suggestion was made to get together with different club members and work on vehicles. Bob Pastor asked if anyone has information on brakes for his GMC M-135 duce-and-a-half. Over the years, he has had lots of problems. A discussion followed.

Vernon Stout’s July 4th “Military Outpost” event will probably not be held this year as the Provo Freedom Fest Parade has been cancelled. In lieu of the Outpost, Vernon is organizing a roll-out of military vehicles. The route will be about twenty miles and will lead through Orem and Provo on the 4th of July. The muster point is Orem high school at 1000 Hrs. More information will be coming. Meeting presentation: George Spargen did a presentation on a battery disconnect device that his son recently installed on his M38 Jeep. He shared information and wire diagrams for the remotely controlled battery cut off switch. The anti-theft device is available on eBay (and elsewhere) in both 12 and 24- volt models. He is very pleased with the way it works.

Request for meeting topics: If anyone has ideas for meeting presentations, please contact Club President, Jim Zocchi. Fort Douglas Museum report: No report was given as the Museum is closed until Salt Lake City goes to yellow during the Covid -19 pandemic.

Next meeting: The 30 July meeting (last Thursday of the month) may or may not happen depending on any restrictions put in place by the State.
