July 2014

May 29th, 2014 Meeting minutes: By Dave Barber, Secretary

The June meeting of the Utah Military Vehicle Club was brought to order by President Jim Z at 7:02 pm. He welcomed 16 members with no visitors present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited before the meeting business was started.

After minutes of the May meeting were approved, it was reported that Fred B had been in and out of the hospital.

Dirk B was visited and is doing OK; he had items brought to the meeting that were for sale to members.

Our Quartermaster was absent.

Club Treasurer, George S reported that there was nothing new, and the bank book balanced with the bank statement.

The next subject was about the upcoming presentation which will be made by Mr. Jim P Director of the Wendover airport at the July meeting. Come if you can as it promises to be a very good power point show.

Bob V reported on the Fort Douglas Day event. Several members had vehicles present which created a lot of interest by attendees. For those wanting to join the MVPA, take note that a membership application was included in the June Knuckle Buster newsletter.

It is encouraged that our membership joins. If you do join, please let Pete P know your membership number as he will be coordinating the club MVPA application process.

A tour of the Utah National Guard maintenance facility in Draper is planned for the August meeting date however Bob V will contact the Guard to confirm. All family members are welcome to attend the tour as there is much to see in the facility that will entertain and educate those who come.

Don’t forget that the 4th of July parade in Provo is fast approaching should you want to attend. We have members that have committed to drive to the event.

George S reported that the Fruitland Idaho show was not well attended but all who went had a lot of fun. He continued to say that the club camp out will be held during the first weekend in August just outside of Hyrum, Utah near the Hardware Ranch. Contact him for details on this event at 801-556-xxxx.

The last item discussed was the Wendover Airshow scheduled for September 5/6. They are requesting that club members bring vehicles. Mark your calendars for the next meeting, July 31st.

Members are encouraged to come out for dinner before the meeting which will be held at 5:30 pm at the Village Inn located at 400 South and 900 East in Salt Lake City.

The meeting was officially adjourned at 7:53 pm.
