Fifteen members signed the roster along with one guest. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited before discussing the medical condition of our membership.

Layne Schoenfeld was absent, but it was reported that he has many Club logoed items for sale. He also has many personal items that can be embroidered with the Club logo.

Under the events topic, the Hill Air Force base airshow on the 25th and 26th of June was discussed.

The Fort Douglas Days on the 18th of June needs participation from out members. All summer there are events that the Utah Military Academy would like to have vehicles for including parades, shows. The list of events that the academy participates in is impressive. Club President Jim has the contact information.

Pete Park will add a newsletter calendar item for the group.

There were comments on the tour of Karl Smith’s collection last month and once again is was a very positive experience.

As a side bar, last month the topic of oil to be used in military vehicles came up and Reuel Ipson did additional research. He contributed more information on what type of oil is safe of our vehicles. Just be sure it has Zinc and Sulfur in it to be safe, and do not use gas with ethanol in it. There are several locations in the valley that sell fuel without ethanol.

A contest was held where Club members were asked to identify people in a May newsletter photo. Ed Clint correctly answered the question.

The evening presentation was given by our newest member, Richard Meyer. His father was a WW 2 combat photographer. He brought equipment used by his Dad and many of his Dad’s rarely seen photographs.

Next month’s meeting topic is open.

At the July meeting, Pete Park will discuss and demonstrate the fine art of rope splicing for vehicle tow ropes.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, June 30th.
