The meeting was brought to order at 7:05 PM by Club President, Jim Zocchi.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the introduction of guests followed.

New members at this meeting included Dave Vuyk and his son as well as Chris Breck and his sons. Dave Vuyk reported that he recently purchased Dave Barber’s WW2 Dodge WC 52 and the additional vehicles that Dave Barber had for sale. He got the Club’s information from the MVPA. Both he and Chris Breck look forward to help with their restoration projects. On behalf of the Club, Jim Zocchi welcomed both as new members.

At this meeting The Club annual dues were due with nine members paying.

Beau Burgess, the Fort Douglas Museum curator reported that 2018 commemorates the 100th year after the ending of “The War To End All Wars,” World War 1. He handed out a magazine size, full color magazine which lists Utah’s World War I monuments. He also discussed WW1 events that the Museum will be sponsoring. More information will be coming.

Fort Douglas Day will be held on Saturday, 16 June and may include a campout on Friday night with outdoor movies. The Fort Douglas Post Theater will show the “Devils Brigade” on 19 May and may also show other WW1 films such as “Sargent York.” Additionally, there will be other film screenings at the Post Theater on the third Thursday of each month from January through June 2018. The films are sponsored by the Utah State Historical Society and will focus on the imagination of the American West. Films include the 1947 movie Ramrod (15 March), John Ford’s 1950 film Wagon Master (19 April) and Brigham Young 1940 (17 May). All should be fun to see on the big screen at the historic Fort Douglas Post Theater.

Harley Jacobs moved to adjourn the meeting and Reuel Ipson seconded the motion. All were in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
