February 2018

It was one of those interesting arrivals for our monthly meeting at the Ft. Douglas Museum. Last month was the difficulty getting into a locked building, and this month it was the home game for the Utes University of Utah basketball team playing UCLA. One by one the parking spaces reserved for the museum were taken up by fans of the ā€œUā€. If you didn’t arrive early there was really a problem finding parking.

The meeting was called to order by our vice president Bob Boettcher. He welcomed everyone and invited our newest members and those that hadn’t been around in awhile to introduce themselves. Asking for a volunteer to lead all in the Pledge of Allegiance, Mr. Bob Pastor volunteered, came to the front, gave instructions on the proper method of recognition and then lead the group.

President Jim Zocchi arrived and assumed responsibilities for the meeting. Having already discussed health and welfare of members and friends, all in attendance were reminded that the annual membership dues are now requested. So far, there has been a good response. If there has been a change in personal information that needs to be incorporated into the roster, contact Pete Park or any of the Club officers ASAP.

Eighteen people were present for this meeting. Each was asked to introduce himself and give a list/ description of their vehicles. This was a very interesting time and it was surprising the variety and numbers of vehicles our membership have. We are a very active bunch of people with lots to accomplish.

The rest of the meeting covered a request for presentations in April and thereafter. At the March meeting Pete Park will give power point presentation on the Military Vehicle Collectors Club of California spring swap meet that for many years was held at the Tower Park KOA campground in Lodi CA. Upcoming events for the year were discussed, and reports made on events members participated in recently.

Everyone should look at the newsletter calendar often for added events, also contribute if something is not listed that should be. The meeting was adjourned at 8:16 PM
